Welcome to Atlantic Crossings.  I'm Leslie, an historian of the Early Modern Atlantic World.  As an American researching and teaching at Oxford University, I currently live a trans-Atlantic life not dissimilar to the historical actors that I study.  Atlantic Crossings is a blog dedicated to connections in history, politics and travel across Europe and the Americas.
